Who says work can’t be fun?! When you are an actress portraying the legendary Princess Diana, every day is a new day and every experience is better than the one before. At least that’s how Kristen Stewart describes filming spencer!
Recently while talking to Weekly entertainment (EW) shared with Stewart how he got ready as Princess Diana and what helped her emulate her look. She even revealed the process of filming and how it differed from the usual technique.
A breathtaking experience!
That dusk The actress first thanked the film’s hair team, saying if it wasn’t for them she couldn’t have pulled off this wig (yes, she used a wig in the film!). When asked why she didn’t go with her natural hair, Stewart explained that it didn’t come close to meeting the character’s requirements. And if she hadn’t used a wig, the shoot would have ended in much less time, which of course she didn’t want (*to wink).
Regarding the shoot, she said it was like sprinting. The team began filming in January 2021 and was done within months. They worked so fast that they were able to achieve their goal of having the film premiere 78th Venice International Film Festival will take place on September 3, 2021. Fans don’t have to wait too long for the theatrical release either, because the film will be in cinemas on November 5, 2021.
Coming back to Stewart, she revealed that if fans watch the first 15 minutes of the film, they’ll easily see that it’s on all the time. The 31-year-old added that she adopted Emma Corrin’s portrayal of Diana The crown as a suggestion. She watched the entire fourth season before reporting for filming. That Charlie’s Angel Star even praised Corrin, saying she did an incredible job impersonating Diana and she loved watching her throughout the season.
Talk about Spencers Director (Pablo Larraín) told Stewart he had his own way of doing things and it scared her at first. She revealed at the end of each day that she had 30 minutes to choose an outfit, and in the meantime Larraín chose a song in the room and was ready to go. He always said that since they don’t do everything chronologically like it happens in a biopic, they have the flexibility to tell the story in ways that people have never heard or seen before.
All Stewart has to do is live in the moment like Diana did and act accordingly. Although other people in the room agreed with Larraín’s approach, Stewart wasn’t sure at first. Being a control freak, she always prefers to know everything beforehand. However, when she followed Larraín’s method, she eventually fitted in with her and she was able to sense the aura of Diana.
So will you be going to the cinema in November?
Now you know how much effort went into making it spencer and Tell Diana’s side of the story. Will you see the film when it is released?
